The ROCK Linux project has been discontinued in 2010. Here are the old data for the historical record!

[00:03] <mnemoc> daja77: is it now complete enough for you?
[00:03] <netrunner> why is preconf not evaluated during Build-Target in import/cpan?
[00:04] <daja77> after my last patch, more or less
[00:04] <daja77> netrunner: you got t5hat patch you voted for applied?
[00:04] <netrunner> daja77: which one?
[00:04] <daja77> the kernel header patch
[00:05] <netrunner> you mean 2004123000161517399 ?
[00:05] <daja77> yes
[00:05] <netrunner> yes.
[00:05] esden (~esden@p508057BF.dip0.t-ipconnect.de) left irc: Read error: 110 (Connection timed out)
[00:06] <daja77> it only worked by editing and after that it broke the package
[00:06] <netrunner> I was a bit confused because my tree here is once again messed up (several packages not under version control etc)
[00:07] <netrunner> but now I think I got it in and I built linux26-header and kdemultimedia (which failed before)
[00:07] <daja77> ic
[00:09] <netrunner> anybody here knows why I don't get preconf evaluated in cpan?
[00:10] <daja77> no idea
[00:11] <daja77> mnemoc: it will do for the purposes on two smaller machines
[00:11] <mnemoc> daja77: nice
[00:12] <daja77> i should bug clifford to explain the crystal strategie in more detail, as he did on congress

[11:55] <netrunner> praenti: I once tried all. I managed to get tls working with exim. now I am stuck with it :)
[11:56] <praenti> netrunner: postfix is also easy to configure for tls. the only thing you must know, you need a additional patch for that
[11:57] <praenti> netrunner: why they don't integrate this patch, no idea...
[11:57] <netrunner> praenti: which is not in rock?
[11:57] <praenti> netrunner: yes. but perhaps this will change the next week

[14:18] <netrunner> daja77: why? don't like it`:)
[14:18] <daja77> no it doesn't build without that not applying kernel patch ...
[14:18] <netrunner> kdemultimedia, hm?
[14:19] <daja77> O_o qt did not build due missing mysql
[14:20] <daja77> *gnarf*
[14:26] <netrunner> daja77: well, if you select mysql, qt wants to use it.
[14:26] <netrunner> daja77: so deselect mysql and qt will build.
[14:26] <daja77> i did not select anything but the crystal target
[14:27] <netrunner> daja77: but then qt should not use mysql.
[14:27] <praenti> netrunner: that is a qt thing. we must add a button in the config menu for that which restults in an --without-mysql
[14:28] <daja77> or adding mysql to crystal
[14:28] <daja77> iirc that was prefered on congress
[14:28] <th> ack
[14:28] <praenti> yes or adding mysql to crystal
[14:28] <daja77> so I'll do that now
[14:29] <th> hmmm it's not in 21c3-bof-topics.txt
[14:29] <th> but i think we discussed and decided to add mysql
[14:29] <th> cause "everyone expects it when there is apache+php"
[14:30] <daja77> strange mysql is flagged as core
[14:30] <th> ahhh
[14:30] <th> yes exactly
[14:30] <th> we have both in crystal
[14:30] <netrunner>  pkginstalled mysql && var_append confopt " " "-plugin-sql-mysql
[14:30] <th> and we discussed and decided that it's ok this way
[14:30] <praenti> th: as i remember this was the argument
[14:30] <netrunner> that should only var_append if mysql is selected (in stages <9)
[14:31] <netrunner> and I have no mysql in my crystal and qt builds fine.
[14:32] <praenti> daja77: your build is strange *g*
[14:32] <daja77> no just found an .err for mysql ...
[14:32] Action: netrunner added the plugin-sql-mysql thing himself for mythtv once ... :)

[14:53] <netrunner> daja77: in turn you could answer me a qemu question if you have a minute
[14:53] <daja77> why it doesn't buold what you want?
[14:54] <netrunner> daja77: no. simple usage. I created a disk image, booted a cd to install a system. but when the install thing needs a reboot, it cannot boot from the emulated harddisk
[14:55] <netrunner> daja77: I create the disk image with qemu-img bla.img 2G or so.
[14:55] <netrunner> it can partition, install and format it. just not boot it.
[14:55] <daja77> well it tries to reboot with the parameters you gave it, so it tries to bbot the cdrom again
[14:56] <netrunner> daja77: no, it tries to acces the harddisk, but says something like error reading from disk.
[14:57] <daja77> oh
[14:57] <netrunner> daja77: it also does not work if I do the reboot without the cdrom parameter, just the hda
[14:57] <daja77> the image is writeable?
[14:57] <netrunner> daja77: tried it with w2k, dos622
[14:57] <netrunner> daja77: yes, it installs up to the point where it wants to reboot.
[14:58] <daja77> and you did proper fdisk and stuff?
[15:00] <netrunner> daja77: yes. in w2k it does it itself.
[15:00] <daja77> dunno
[15:00] <netrunner> daja77: maybe I'll ask you later, when I can tell you the exact message.

[15:26] <mnemoc> shouldn't that be /auto/-rejected by form?
[15:27] <daja77> netrunner: so i need to rebuild the headers first?
[15:27] <netrunner> daja77: exactly.
[15:28] <netrunner> mnemoc: it is explained in the text :)
[15:28] <daja77> just the headers or all kernel packages
[15:28] <mnemoc> ic
[15:28] <netrunner> daja77: headers should suffice.
