[14:31] <fake> hi
[14:31] <fake> There is a new make target "headers_install". Its purpose is to install a set of kernel headers useful for libraries and user-space tools. A limited set of headers is installed, and those headers are sanitized on their way to the destination directory. It is hoped that distributors will use this mechanism to set up kernel headers for inclusion from user space in the future.
[14:31] <fake> that's 2.6.18
[14:31] <fake> yippie!
[14:39] <mnemoc> oh
[14:39] <blindcoder> WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
[14:39] <blindcoder> about time they accepted reality
[14:41] <stf^rocklinux> moinsen
[14:44] <stf^rocklinux> fake: great news to hear the kernel devs finally worked this out :)
[14:54] <fake> stf^rocklinux: thanks for the xorg fix
[14:54] <fake> stf^rocklinux: i kinda got held up by some other stuff...
[14:56] <daja77_> hi fake
[14:58] <blindcoder> moin stf^rocklinux, daja77_
[14:58] <daja77_> hi blindy
[14:58] <blindcoder> btw, you people know that most of our scripts don't have pkgforking support?
[14:58] <stf^rocklinux> fake: you're welcome! I still wonder about xorg 7.1, as I couldn't get it to work properly here... and at least with 6.9 the problems were related to fontconfig being an external lib.
[15:05] <stf^rocklinux> blindcoder: yes... please add this to the roadmap.
[15:08] <blindcoder> I've just added it to Create-UpdList
[15:08] <blindcoder> libpng=libpng: New source checksum (715762639007d1e2815a688e626fc7f8).

[15:08] <blindcoder> well, it's a bit to update :)
[15:11] <stf^rocklinux> Nice! I'd like to clean up the scripts a bit after the next release, esp. by moving large shell functions to separate files, but also by using GNU getopts...

[15:37] <fake> Kann ich mit dem Gigaset C450IP auch meinen Skype Zugang nutzen?
[15:38] <fake> Nein, Skype unterstützt nicht den SIP VoIP Standard und ist nicht kompatibel.
[15:38] <fake> THANK YOU, Siemens!
[15:38] <stf^rocklinux> hehe

[15:40] <fake> that's the first VoIP SIP phone i saw at a consumer electronics store
[15:40] <fake> (saturn)
[15:40] <fake> and it's only 99 EUR

[17:30] Action: fake starting build with stf's fixes
[17:31] <blindcoder> stf^rocklinux: I'd like to get rid of a lot of things like this:
[17:31] <blindcoder> #!/bin/bash
[17:31] <blindcoder> gawk -e '
[17:31] <blindcoder> ...
[17:31] <blindcoder> '
[17:31] <blindcoder> EOF
[17:33] <fake> ?
[17:33] <fake> yuck
[17:34] <blindcoder> fake: we have that all over the place
[17:35] <blindcoder> see Create-PkgList and Create-PkgQueue
[17:35] <blindcoder> for example
[17:35] <blindcoder> it's in other places, too, but not to that extreme
[17:36] <blindcoder> I'd like to get rid of gawk in our scripts as much as possible, if only because I don't speak gawk :)
[17:36] <fake> i'd recommend replacing #!/bin/bash by #!/bin/gawk for startes
[17:36] <fake> *starters
[17:37] <blindcoder> hehe
[17:37] <fake> awk is considerably faster when it comes to multiline operations
[17:38] <fake> than bash-internals or sed/grep
[17:38] <blindcoder> I'd prefer knowing what the code actually does to that
[17:38] <blindcoder> although a lot of cliffs bash code is a mystery to me anyway
[17:39] <fake> awk isn't hard to learn
[17:40] <blindcoder> it's not that it's hard to learn to me
[17:40] <blindcoder> I can figure out many programming languages by looking at the code
[17:40] <fake> https://www-e.uni-magdeburg.de/urzs/awk/
[17:41] <fake> i wouldn't go so far as to call awk a programming language, and that's why it tends to look confusing to programmers ;-)
[17:41] <blindcoder> OTOH I'd also like comments in the source to actually match the code they comment :)
[17:41] <fake> yep, agreed, that would rock ;)
[17:42] <blindcoder> I remember one comment along the lines:
[17:42] <blindcoder> "Do foo, and otherwise exit with error"
[17:42] <blindcoder> well, it did foo
[17:42] <blindcoder> but not exit otherwise :)
[17:43] <blindcoder> fake: btw, could you try restarting the webserver submaster runs in?
[17:43] <blindcoder> fake: it still doesn't work as it used to
[17:44] <fake> blindcoder: sure
[17:45] <fake> i freed up another Gigabyter yeserday
[17:45] <fake> by deleting kde 3.4.3 and 3.5.1 packages from the ftp master mirror
[17:46] <fake> try now
[17:47] <blindcoder> hmm, no
[17:48] <blindcoder> I get the "Discarded" mail
[17:48] <blindcoder> but not the "Added by" mails
[17:49] <blindcoder> also, the "Patch <id> has been stored" message is missing
[17:49] <fake> i didn't get anything
[17:50] <blindcoder> ah, now it's here
[17:50] <fake> interesting.
[17:50] <blindcoder> it just doesn't arrive if I use the old upload interface
[17:50] <blindcoder> as used by rock_commit_patch
[17:58] <blindcoder> hmm
[17:58] Action: blindcoder has a "I'll never be able to fill that much harddisk space!" moment
[17:59] Action: blindcoder realizes, damn, he _will_ fill it!
[18:08] <daja77_> hehe
[18:46] <fake> cups still freaks oiyut:
[18:46] <fake> *out
[18:46] <fake> Linking imagetops...
[18:46] <fake> ../filter/libcupsimage.so: undefined reference to `png_read_destroy'
[18:47] <fake> 2006070220372928330
[19:06] <fake> stf has it all ;)
[19:06] Action: fake away -> happa

[21:10] <blindcoder> owl: yeah, germany - portugal
[21:10] <owl> aaaah.
[21:10] <blindcoder> owl: not directly related to you this time:)
[21:10] <owl> .oO( great timing... )
[21:10] <owl> yeah, i already wondered :)
[21:11] <blindcoder> owl: how's the morons?
[21:12] <owl> blindcoder: oh. i ate them on - when was it again? - i guess thursday... several hours of moron-biting. yummy!
[21:12] <blindcoder> owl: moron-biting? what's that?
[21:12] <blindcoder> like zombie-shooting?
[21:13] <owl> blindcoder: that's also called "biting customers in their neck"
[21:13] Nick change: ija_ -> ija
[21:13] <owl> no. you know vampires? :)
[21:13] <owl> blooood :)
[21:13] <blindcoder> owl: I know Vampire from #nethack-offtopic, does that count?
[21:13] <owl> blindcoder: dunno, i don't know #nethack-offtopic...
[21:14] <owl> well. i fear, that they're now undead... and are able to ask dumb questions over a longer period of time *sniff*
[21:14] <blindcoder> owl: take every prejudice about IRC you know, distill it, repeat twice, mix and shake well. you get: #nethack-offtopic
[21:15] <blindcoder> eww
[21:15] <blindcoder> I recommend the wooden stick through the heart
[21:16] <owl> hrrrrm. every prejudice about irc... -> e.g.? // nah, doesn't help, i fear... i also tried silver, but the same. guess they need to pay money to me, till their rest of life and then they will be free O_O
[21:17] <blindcoder> owl: we're currently discussing how breast nipple decoration fits in with periods in "history of architecture and design", and that it has something to do with periods after all
[21:18] <blindcoder> well, getting money is a good thing :{)
[21:18] <owl> ^^ architecture? i didn't knew yet, that women are buidlings...
[21:18] <owl> yeah, hopefully i will really get it. *grml*
[21:19] <blindcoder> learn something new every day :)
[21:19] <owl> hrm. every day a new word in spanish counts, too? :)
[21:20] <blindcoder> jupp
[21:22] <owl> hrmpf. saturday-evening and i have no clue what to do... i am not yet sure, if mumbling too many words in every possible channel is better than sitting lone in a pub and listening to music... but i fear those drunken soccer-idiots hanging arround in bar and grabbing the 10th beer in one hour...
[21:22] <blindcoder> that fear is reasonable
[21:23] <owl> oh, then i must become a rich person, very soon... let me count: spanish && playing guitar && getting better training in singing && computer-related stuff && photography
[21:23] <blindcoder> well, I'm currently putting up the washed clothes
[21:23] <owl> thx a lot... :/
[21:23] <blindcoder> after about half a bottle of baileys
[21:23] <owl> oh, have fun.
[21:23] <owl> paeh, alc... ;)
[21:23] <blindcoder> I considered going to alex' bar
[21:23] <owl> *remembering last saturday* why is there no fscking good concert here, right now?
[21:24] <blindcoder> but i fear he won't let me stay the night there
[21:24] <owl> hrm. why not?
[21:24] <owl> .oO( blindy is homeless? )
[21:24] <blindcoder> doesn't want people staying over by themselves
[21:24] <blindcoder> naah
[21:24] <blindcoder> and I'll have two homes for all of august :)
[21:24] <owl> hmmm
[21:24] <owl> huch?
[21:25] <owl> more verbose, please.
[21:25] <blindcoder> I'm moving, remember?
[21:25] <owl> blahblahblah. why is tv so dumb, dumb, dumb?! arhg
[21:25] <owl> yeah, but 2 homes?
[21:26] <blindcoder> yes, I've quit the old one to 31. august
[21:26] <blindcoder> and I have the new one from 01. august
[21:26] <owl> aaah. ok
[21:26] <owl> [x] you have too much money
[21:27] <blindcoder> no, I have deadlines on my contracts
[21:27] <blindcoder> and I didn't meet the one for july
[21:27] <stf^rocklinux> owl: if TV broadcasted only intelligent things, there wouldn't be enough material for more than a week ;)
[21:29] <owl> stf^rocklinux: heh, might they just should hire some clever cabarettists... members of political parties are mumbling enought shit/day that you could fill lots of those 'this-tv-program-is-dumb'-holes... ;)
[21:29] <owl> blindcoder: d'ouh.
[21:31] <blindcoder> ah well, I'll live
[21:31] <owl> yeah. ;)
[21:32] <owl> *yawn* i am bored.
