Yes, as the author of that stuff I have to agree, it was probably a mistake. But the fix to the present way of doing things is simple, and there are much more serious things that are ahead of this in the list of things to improve in the image handling. We are talking about byte and bit ordering, though. There are performance advantages to the present way of doing things, but they are dwarfed by other inefficiencies in the image code. - -- Erik Corry ehcorry@inet.uni-c.dk ------- Message 2 Received: from little-charlie.ISRI.UNLV.EDU by JIMI.CS.UNLV.EDU id aa27152; 1 Dec 95 15:01 PST To: bug-chimera@cs.unlv.edu Subject: not sure if this is a bug Date: Fri, 01 Dec 1995 15:01:53 -0800 From: Julie Borsack in chimera2.0 blockquotes are displayed in italic. ------- Message 3 Received: from wiley.muc.ditec.de by JIMI.CS.UNLV.EDU id aa08995; 2 Dec 95 4:16 PST Received: from vector.eikon.e-technik.tu-muenchen.de ([139.92.42.168]) by wiley.muc.ditec.de (8.6.12/8.6.9) with ESMTP id NAA13821 for ; Sat, 2 Dec 1995 13:16:10 +0100 Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by vector.eikon.e-technik.tu-muenchen.de (8.6.12/8.6.9) with SMTP id NAA29029 for ; Sat, 2 Dec 1995 13:13:18 +0100 Message-Id: <199512021213.NAA29029@vector.eikon.e-technik.tu-muenchen.de> X-Authentication-Warning: vector.enet: Host localhost didn't use HELO protocol To: bug-chimera@cs.unlv.edu Subject: Proxies Reply-To: "Julian H. Could someone who has a succesfull server caching strategy please mail this list & couple of lines of working syntax ? Downloading to a file has been reincorporated...it is implemented in an unusual manner which I think will work fine but there will probably be some screaming. My answer is to "press dup" and then start your download. There is no progress indicator, yet, of course. The proxy stuff might work now. The forms stuff passes simple tests. The URL display at the top disappeared because I went temporarily insane but I will put it back in the next release. Really. The HTML module font code still sucks badly. I will fix it this weekend and also make clickable images work again. Hopefully.
