Yes it does, but if you have less than a few thousand .desktop files I don't
think you'll notice.

Oops, not implemented yet. I will add that using the "Terminal" tag in
.desktop files to run them in xterms.

Well, either we use the .desktop files and adhere to their standards or
we use something homemade (as the former implementations were) and have
to somehow squeeze them into other DE's, too.
