Subject: Re: [rock-linux] [PATCH][RFC] XML and post-installation
Hi,

sorry, again, for the lack of time on my side recently ...

I would not like to intruduce s.th. completely new in the next months
in ROCK Linux 2.0.

We also should not mix post-install and cron work.

For me the difference between post-install and cron.d is:

cron.d: regularly executed stuff.
postinstall.d: stuff that is only done after installation / updateing
               of a given package.

Currently we have also stuff in cron.d that does not need to be
executed every night, but there is no technical reason why not to drop
the XML* into it - until we add a real postinstall mechanism to mine
and the Build-Scipts.

E.g. the post-install.d stuff should be run by mine (and maybe the
end-user Emerge-Pkg) - not by an cron script.

But we shoudl add this into flyspray and focus on polishing the
existing code to get 2.0.0 out of the door.
