Hm - can be ok too - this is a "normal" diagnostic if a program does
access the disk "out-of-bounds". It depends on the applications that
have been run if this is ok - or a tool or kernel bug.

does:

dd if=/dev/discs/disc0/disc of=/dev/null

complete without error?

ROCK Linux does not overwrite the MBR or whateer by default - so maybe
you forgot to hit the install menue entry in the STONE grub or lilo?

The first 2.0.0-rc2 TAG got updated later - so maybe the generic build
was not build with the final 2.0.0-rc2 tag.

In -rc3 or SVN:HEAD this problems are already fixed and gnome24
included ...
